How to Measure Your Resting Heart Rate

Your resting heart rate (RHR) is a key predictor across all three assessments. To measure accurately:

  1. Sit quietly for 5 minutes before measuring
  2. Place two fingers on the inside of your wrist (radial artery)
  3. Count your pulse for 60 seconds (or 30 seconds and multiply by 2)
  4. Measure in the morning before caffeine for the most accurate result
